As 45^th Parallel Universe begins their journey collaborating on sports chamber music for the first time, executive director Lisa Lipton interviews The Portland Pickles’ very own Dillon T Pickle ahead of the upcoming 2nd annual Holiday Pub Crawl in the N Mississippi neighborhood. You can catch Dillon at the pub crawl event with 45^th Parallel players on December 17th at 7pm at the Portland Pickles Public House.

Lisa: As a very accomplished pickle, what are some of the things you seek out in music that speak to your unique life experience?

Dillon T Pickle: Food references are always appreciated – they make me feel at home. I resonate most with high tempo dance music, because if there’s one thing you need to know about this Pickle, it’s that he likes to BOOGIE.

Lisa: At Pickles events, do you ever sing along with the crowd?

Dillon T Pickle: If only I had a voice…

Lisa: Do you play any instruments?

Dillon T Pickle: My favorite instruments are abstract objects: sauce pans, traffic cones, hammers, etc. However, I do relish the opportunity to show off my violin skills. All I can say is that this Pickle knows how to shred.

Lisa: What are you most looking forward to with this pub crawl chamber music event?

Dillon T Pickle: I mean, what’s better than dancing to live music???

Lisa: Do you have any advice for young musicians or young sportsters?

Dillon T Pickle: Live for what your passion is at THIS moment. For many years, I had no idea where my Pickle adventures would take me. It just so happened that the Pickleverse led me to the Portland Pickles.

Lisa: What are you most looking forward to this next Pickles season?

Dillon T Pickle: You know that feeling when you’re sitting in the stands with thousands of your BFFs all around you? That’s it.

Lisa: What’s something you enjoy most about the Portland Pickles?

Dillon T Pickle: The Pickles aren’t afraid to be BOLD. The brine that gives me life is infused with that boldness.

Lisa: What’s something you enjoy most about the classical chamber music scene here in Portland?

Dillon T Pickle: That Pickle nation has access to some of the most beautiful vibrations in the universe!

Lisa: Do you have a wish for Santa?

Dillon T Pickle: For everyone to feel comfortable in their own brine. Everyone has their unique stories, experiences, and skills. Whatever makes you you is your superpower.
