Bolling on the River
Claude Bolling’s Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano became an instant classic upon its release in 1975, spending 10 years on the Billboard top 40 charts. Flutist Martha Long will be joined by pianist Maria Garcia, guest drummer Niel DePonte, and bassist Mariya-Andoniya Andonova for an evening of classical jazz.
Zach’s Melodic Meadow
Zach Galatis returns with a voice that makes the flowers bloom ;) He’ll be joined by pianist Maria Garcia for this wonderful program of Broadway classics, performed in the beautiful garden of Eve and David Celsi.
Harmonie
Harmonie house bands were often employed in Mozart’s time by aristocratic families to provide music for their social gatherings and special events. Our virtuoso wind players bring that tradition to life for this program of wind sextets!
Out of the Dark
We kick off the indoor season with high energy music by Osvaldo Golijov and American composers Kenneth Fuchs and Eleanor Alberga.
Romantique
Arcturus WindsIt’s OK to admit it: we love romantic music! The Arcturus Quintet introduces us to three rarely performed Romantic works on their program, featuring guest pianist Maria Garcia.
Czech Please
45th Parallel founder Greg Ewer’s program Czech Please showcases his passion for the music of Czech composers, featuring fantastic works by Dvorak, Martinu, and Zdenek Fibich.
Ellington’s Nutcracker Suite
The North Pole Cello Sextet always brings holiday cheer to our stage, this time performing Duke Ellington’s jazzy arrangement of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite.

Pulse and Pillars: an Evening with Andy Akiho and Gemini Percussion
The Gemini ProjectAcclaimed composer Andy Akiho joins us for an evening of his steel pan virtuosity and selected movements from his Pulitzer nominated masterpiece, Seven Pillars. For this show Andy will be joined by the percussionists of the Gemini Project, performing in the fabulous Straub Collaborative Studio in Portland, OR.
Lost in Deep Time
Pyxis QuartetOur season continues at Club Straub in April with the Pyxis Quartet’s performance of Prospects of a Misplaced Year by Andy Akiho, accompanied by artist Brad Johnson’s visionary artwork, a stunning exploration of geologic time told in music and immersive projection.
UNACCOMPANIED
F.O.G.Boston-based cellist Leo Eguchi presents UNACCOMPANIED, a performance featuring eight short new works for solo cello which explore personal stories of immigration and American identity.
Unapologetic
We showcase the works of contemporary composer Damien Geter and 19th century composer Louise Farrenc, highlighting the striking contrasts and commonalities between these two exceptional composers.
