Leonard Bernstein at 100
45th Parallel Universe joins the Oregon Jewish Museum and Center for Holocaust Education in celebration of the 100-year birthday of American master composer Leonard Bernstein. Our program features brilliant chamber music from Bernstein's early years, performed at the museum at the same time as an exhibition from the Grammy Museum that draws from more than 150 artifacts including photographs, personal items, scores, and more.

Vive la Femme
mousai REMIXOverlooked but not forgotten, the composers on Vive la Femme deserve an audience, and we’re here to deliver. The program features music by groundbreaking and heroic suffragette composers Rebecca Clarke, Dame Ethel Smyth, Amy Beach, and Ruth Crawford Seeger.
Primordial Swamp
45th Parallel Chamber OrchestraOur first Primordial Swamp features Martha Long and Marilyn de Oliveira performing Reza Vali’s vivid Folk Songs, with the composer present to introduce his wonderful piece. We also have great fun with Martinů’s brilliant Nonet, and celebrate the release of 45th Parallel’s latest recording with a performance of Dohnányi’s Sextet.
Les Boréades
45th Parallel Chamber OrchestraIn a city with a dearth of recital halls, we’ve decided to create our own! 45th Parallel partners with Glowbox and Brad Johnson to create Les Boréades, an immersive visual and sonic performance that challenges the conventions of live performance. Our program features a survey of French music, including works by Rameau, Debussy, Ravel, and Boulez.
