After the Revolution: The Life and Music of Chen Yi and Zhou Long

Friday, June 20, 2025

The story of composers Chen Yi and Zhou Long is one of love; for each other and for the music that has led them on a remarkable journey from the forced labor camps of the Cultural Revolution to the US. The critical acclaim for their brilliant music is richly deserved, including the Pulitzer Prize for Mr. Zhou and the Charles Ives Living Award for Ms. Chen.

Join us for a special evening of words and music, as we welcome Chen Yi and Zhou Long to Portland for a program that will mix western and eastern music and instruments, with commentary by the composers that provides compelling context to their music.
